There are reports that retailers’ sales reported a 55-60 % lesser transaction compared to November- December span.

After Sabah, Sarawak To Ban Of Log Exports



The two states of Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah have been major exporters of hardwood logs to India. But the Sabah state has completely banned the log export since last months, where as Sarawak state government is also planning to stop log exports. Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said, ‘The state government is moving towards a total ban of export of logs’.

Asean Plywood Maharashtra And Karnataka Dealers’ Award Night In Phuket



Kolkata based company Gennext Plywood (P) Ltd marketing plywood and decorative veneer under the brand name “ASEAN” has organized a fourday Dealers’ meet at Phuket from November 27 2018 to November 30, 2018. All together 42 participants from Maharashtra and Karnataka participated in the meet. The trip was also joined by Mr. Mahabir Agarwal, Mg. Director of the company. The participants reached Phuket on 27th November 2018. After rest and lunch, the dealers enjoyed at beautiful beach till evening.

Ply-Boards Costs Are Higher Due To 200% Jump In Poplar Log Prices



As predicted by Ply Reporter’s the Poplar Timber prices have been rising with spiral effect every day in north India, which has created an extra burden of plywood factories because their production cost has changed in last few weeks. Market reports that the Poplar timber prices have been climbing up since last 3 months on each day basis, and is reported to have touched near double mark in last 3 months. Producers from Yamunanagar say to the Ply Reporter’s team that there are new rates being quoted that are higher than the earlier each day in Mandi.
