Timber imports affected by tighter credit standards in banks




After reports of banking fraud, the new regulations has impacted on timber imports from the overseas market. Banks are taking very importers to obtain credit and credit limit. Due to the banking support and lack of cash timber import business is severely affected. Importers who ply reporter almost all important banks told the reporter withdrew its features, as well as went to LC Facility expensive. Labor shortages in the plywood industry has been a major cause of the decline in production across the country. According to reports from various sectors, declined by 40 percent due to a shortage of labor in production alone Plywood industry. Price War Hits Margins of MDF Producers



With rise in awareness and application of Medium density fiber-board, India is consuming more MDF than ever. Thanks to designers using MDF in different applications, this category is growing at 22 percent annual growth despite of many odds. With present installed capacity of 2400 cbm per day, Indian MDF market is around Rs 1800 crore as of now. The growth in value terms in MDF segment has not been very promising though volumes have grown by 22 percent. The key players in Indian markets are Action Tesa, Green Panelmax, VIR MDF, Century Ply, ASIS MDF and Pioneer.
