New Wood Based Industries Licences In UP In Catch 22 Situation


National Green Tribunal (NGT) has fixed the next hearing on 23rd October on petition to challenging the process of the granting provisional licences for establishment about 1350 new plywood and wood based industries in Uttar Pradesh. A four-member bench headed by Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, hearing the matter on 1st October, has directed all parties, including the UP government, to maintain the status quo until the next hearing of 23rd October, 2019.

Govt. Again Asked On Saw Mill Licences In Pune And Kolhapur



The government sought a report from PCCF (Principal Chief Conservator of Forest) Mr UK Agarwal sending a letter second time in two months on the issuance of licences to 50 saw mills by the state-level committee (SLC) as he heads the committee also. The letter also states that SLC’s decision is contradictory to Rule 53 (4) e of the Maharashtra Forest Rules (MFR) and the Supreme Court (SC) order in 1997. The government has also filed an affidavit in the apex court on this matter. The report has been elaborately published in TOI.

ASEAN Plywood Dealers’ Excursion At Dubai


Gennext Plywood (P) Limited, a Kolkata based company, marketing plywood and decorative veneer under the brand name “ASEAN”, organized a 4 days dealers’ excursion at Dubai from September 13 to 17, 2019. All together 7 participants from West Bengal, Bihar and Maharashtra participated in the trip. The participants reached Dubai on 13th September 2019. They were given a warm welcome at the airport. After rest and lunch, the dealers enjoyed at luxurious Marina Dhow cruise accompanied by dinner.
