Greenlam Revenue Grew In FY 2018-19



Greenlam Industries has declared its Standalone & Consolidated Financial Result for the quarter and year ended on 31 March 2019. According to the company's financial results, Greenlam's total income (consolidated) in the financial year 2018 - 19 increased by approx 11 percent to Rs. 1280 crores as compared to the previous year at Rs. 1155 crores. For the fourth quarter, revenue of company's also increased by more than 12 percent to Rs. 360 crores.

Eucalyptus Prices Eased Up, Helps Plywood Industry To Sustain




Growing Poplar timber prices have been worrying plywood industry in northern India, but the easing up prices of Eucalyptus timber is helping industry to sustain. Industry believes that Poplar timber prices have been tending upward since April this year and it has so far noted an increased up to 25- 30 percent during last six months. It is believed that industry is unable to pass their input cost in the market in this ratio and they are forced to note big pressure on their margins.

The Plywood industry’s Capacity vs Demand Gap has widened where capacity is higher by 50% or can say there is double the capacity than demand. Unlike laminate where you need design and marketing sense to grow, in plywood you just need to reduce the price to finish your stock. And that is why plywood industry has begun bleeding and soon its impact shall reach to traded retailers as well.

Plywood is a commodity material, though in India it is sold like branded products. Consumer does ask for brand recognition, but percentage of such people is merely 5-7%, and growing. Chhattisgarh To Develop Plywood Industry In State



Directions were given by Chief Secretary Ajay Singh to forest-industries-agriculture department to make work plan jointly for establishing plywood industry in Chhattisgarh. Based on it, at favourable places the plywood industries would be established in State. A discussion was held for establishing plywood industry in the State, which was chaired by Chief secretary Ajay Singh at secretariat (Mahanadi Bhawan).

PPMA Seeks Special Status for Plywood Industry



Punjab Plywood Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) has sought to the central government to put the plywood industry in the special category and reduce the interest rate by 2 percent because plywood industry has been considered as the agro-based industry. They asked the government to direct financial institutions and banks to reduce the interest rate. Mr. Ashok Juneja, Chairman, PPMA addressing a meeting of plywood producers of state-organized recently in Ludhiana said, “Plywood had been duly declared by the government as an agro-based industry but no concessional treatment was given to it.”
